2010 MOUNTAIN OFFICIAL RULES
                                                             2010 Mountain Official Rules

The following rules will govern conduct of Mountain Weekly Racing events and other designated events.

By participating in an event at The Mountain, competitors agree to accept and abide by these rules in their entirety.

The intent of these rules is to ensure that each competitor is treated fairly and that each event is conducted consistently.

However, since there are many uncertainties involved in the sport of stock car racing, incidents may occur on the speedway that are not specifically covered by these rules. In such cases, The Mountain reserves the right to add, delete or modify any rule at any time in order to maintain fair and equal competition or in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

Many calls made by track officials during a race event are judgment calls. Judgment calls may not be appealed and will not be reviewed or changed after a race event.

Pay off may be adjusted in all classes in the event of a low car count.


General Rules


Car Numbers

Numbers on the side of the car must be at least 24" high and neatly applied to both sides of the car. A number on the roof of the car must be at least 36" high and neatly applied to the roof, reading from the passenger side.

Prize Money

1. All competitors must fill out a registration sheet at sign in. This will allow everyone to get home earlier after each race. Prize money will be mailed the following week.

2. Any car starting feature race will receive tow money.

Sign-In

1. It is the responsibility of each driver to sign in and draw for qualifying order/starting

2. A schedule will be posted at each race event indicating the time that the drawing will end.

3. Any driver failing to draw for qualifying position or any driver arriving after draw has closed will receive only one (1) qualifying lap and will be added to the lineup according to track official's discretion.


Event Schedule

1. A schedule will be posted at each race event. The schedule may be revised in the event of unforeseen circumstances.

2. Once the pit entrance gate to the track has been closed no car will be allowed to enter the track for that session (practice, qualifying, or race event).

Practice

1. A schedule of times for hot laps (practice) by division will be posted at each race event.

2. Each division will be given one practice session. If a driver misses that session, he will not be permitted a make-up session.

3. Under no circumstances will a car from one division be allowed to practice with another division.

4. The track reserves the right to determine how many cars in each division will practice at a time and reserves the right to determine which cars are in each practice session.

Qualifying

 

 Occasionally Late Models feature line ups will be determined by a fast car dash.

1. Late Models will receive two (2) qualifying laps with the faster of the two laps being recorded as the official time.

2. Other divisions may qualify for special events. In the case of additional qualifying, an announcement will be made at the Drivers Meeting.

3. Any driver not in position according to his draw will be allowed only one qualifying lap.

4. Once a driver has crossed the start/finish line for the green flag there will be no wave-off and the official qualifying lap will have begun.

5. The track reserves the right to invert cars based on qualifying time to encourage competition.

6. All divisions not qualifying will draw for starting position for qualifying races or feature.

7. The track reserves the right to change qualifying procedure for any race night.

Competition Rule

Any driver winning two consecutive feature events will start no better than sixth position in the next feature event. The driver must still qualify for this position through qualifying and/or heat races. In the event the same driver wins from sixth, for a third consecutive win, the starting position for the next event will be seventh and so on. (The track will pay a bonus to the driver winning from being placed seventh and back.) This will only apply during weekly feature events

Time Limits

All races shall be subject to a limit of one minute per lap (e.g. 15-lap race has a time limit of 15 minutes).
If the time limit expires during the race the following procedure will be used.

1. If the race is currently under caution, the race will be completed under a green-white-checkered condition.

2. If the race is currently under green, the race will continue until the next caution, and then will be finished under green-white-checkered. If there are numerous cautions the race may finish under caution.

3. Track officials reserve the right to change the number of laps in a race as needed.

4. Track officials will do what is necessary to finish all races by our curfew.

Race Starts

1. The pole car sets the pace on starts. It is the responsibility of the car on the outside of the front row to remain beside the pole sitter.

2. All race starts will be made coming off of turn 4 the flagman and raceceiver will start the race. The front row will get two chances to start the race even. On the third start the front row will be moved back one row.

3. On restarts there will be no passing before the cone regardless of starting position. All cars must stay in line until they pass the cone.

4. If the caution flag comes out before all the cars complete the first lap, the race will be restarted using the original double file restart.

5. Any car going to the pit before the first lap is complete may return to his original starting position provided he is in position when the one-lap to go signal is given.

6. The track reserves the right to go to a single file start after three restarts.

Restarts

1. All restarts after the first completed green flag lap will be single file and will be lined up using positions held in the last completed green flag lap. (double file restarts may be used from 2nd back on some events)

2. Single file restarts will be made with all lead lap cars being placed in front of all lapped cars. Lapped cars will line up behind all lead lap cars in the order they completed the last green flag lap.

3. On restarts, the leader must fire coming off turn four. There will be no passing before the cone and no driver will be allowed to go below the cone.

4. Any driver passing before or going below the cone will be placed at the rear of all the cars. If we stop the race for that car the caution will be charged to that car. A second offense will result in removal from the event and the car will not be scored.

5. Any driver jumping another car on a restart may be penalized at the pay window if time limit does not allow stopping the race.

Cautions

1. All cars should immediately slow down upon seeing the caution flag and lights. The cars will be scored using the last completed green flag. There will be no racing back to the flag.

2. Any driver continuing to race after the caution is displayed will be subject to penalty including being sent to the rear, or disqualified from the event at the discretion of the Race Director.

3. All cars causing a caution will be sent to the rear of the lap they are running in.

4. The decision of who is involved in the caution will be made by the Race Director and will not be subject to review or reversal. Any driver or crew member coming to the press box during a race to argue such a call will be disqualified from all events that night including events that have already been completed. Driver will receive no pay or points for any event that night.

5. Any car going to the pits under caution will be placed at the rear of the field regardless of laps completed.

6. Any car causing two cautions will be sent to the pits for the remainder of the event and will not be allowed to reenter the race.

7. Any car intentionally causing a caution without a mechanical problem will be penalized one lap.

Driver Changes

1. A driver may only drive in one division per racing event. This rule applies to any and all special events. Only 2 exceptions will be allowed. If a driver wants to drive a crate car and a sportsman car the same night these two classes are able to cross over sense we consider them equal. A lot of tracks combined the cars. The driver will need to buy 2 pit passes and pay a $100.00 entry fee for one class. Also any driver can compete in a Demolition Derby but must pay any entry fees.

We will not allow a SLM driver to drop down a class or a sportsman or crate driver to drop down to a mini stock or other class. This is not fair to the drivers in the support classes.



2. Any driver change that has not been approved by the Race Director will result in car and driver receiving no points and no money for the night.

3. There will be no driver changes made after a race has received the first green flag.

4. Any driver change attempted after qualifying will result in car starting at the rear of the field.

5. Points will be given only to the driver starting the race.

Radios and Mirrors

1. Radios are not allowed in any class

2. Mirrors will not be allowed in any class

Penalties

1. Speedway officials will display the caution flag for any incidents considered to be rough driving.

2. The driver judged to be rough driving would be placed at the rear of the field for the first offense, suspended from the event for the second offense, and suspended for the remainder of the racing season for the third offense.

3. A car that intentionally hits or rams another car while under caution will be disqualified from an event. All points and pay for the night will be forfeited and the car and driver will be immediately removed from the premises.

4. Any physical confrontation, either on the racing surface or in the pits, will result in the aggressor being escorted from the Speedway, suspended from the next two racing events, and other area tracks that are participating with the Mountain and a possible fine may be implemented before they are allowed to return. A second offense will result in suspension for the remainder of the racing season at all participating tracks.

5. Any driver who enters another driver's pit area will be considered the aggressor. If the incident occurs away from either driver's pit area, both drivers may be considered the aggressor.

6. Drivers will be held responsible for the action of all crewmembers and the penalty may be applied to the driver if a crewmember is involved in an incident.

7. Any physical confrontation with an official of Mountain Raceway will result in lifetime ban from Mountain Raceway Park.

8. Speedway officials reserve the right to increase or decrease the above penalties based on the severity of the incident.

9. No one except Speedway officials is allowed on the racing surface at any time during the race. A crew member going out on the track will result in the immediate disqualification of the driver.

10. Any car in the top 5 finishing order not going to the scales before going to inner our outer pits will automatically be disqualified.


Protest Rules (see Late Model rules and Pure Street rules for their protest rules)

1. No equipment will be considered approved by reason of having passed through inspection unobserved.

2. If at any time officials question that a part is legal by Mountain rules, it is up to the driver and team to prove to officials that it is legal.

3. In all divisions, only drivers can file protests and only the driver of the top 5 finishing cars may file protests on the winner.

4. Reverse protests will not be allowed.

5. Cars being protested will be impounded and torn down.

6. All protests must be filed at the scales with cash when driver crosses the scales at the end of the race. Within 5 min of completion of race. (Any team members, crew, car owners, family members coming to the scales will result in their driver not being allowed to make a protest). It is the driver’s responsibility to know how much money for the protest and have the correct change.

7. Failure to tear down at the instruction of a Mountain Raceway Park official will result in immediate and automatic disqualification.

8. Only protests involving alleged violations of engine specifications will be permitted after the completion of a feature event. However, Mountain Raceway officials may subject a car to any type of inspection at any time.

9. Visual protests by other contestants must be made before qualifying or heat races. A visual protest requires $50 in cash for each item protested. Mountain officials may do a visual check after a feature event.

10. During tear down, only the driver and two crew members on the car being inspected are permitted to be in the tear down area along with Mountain Raceway officials.

11. When the protested part is ready for checking, the driver and one crew member from the protesting team will be permitted to witness the inspection.

12. Scoring protests must be made by the driver and must be made within 10 minutes after the official posting of the results for the event.

13. Any class restricted by cubic inch will be P&G. P&G protest will be $200 with $100 going to the track and $100 to protest winner. Track reserves the right to P&G any car.

No scoring protests will be allowed after the 10-minute time period.
On all protests, decisions of Mountain Raceway official are final.

Safety Equipment

1. Fire extinguishers must be mounted in each car and must be in working order.

2. Battery must be securely mounted in a box or case of some kind. If it is inside the car, it must have a cover.

3. A 5-point racing harness is required in all cars. Date on belts should be no more than three (3) years old.

4. Racing seat is required. NO fiberglass.

5. Add-on weights must be made of lead only. They must be painted white, have the car number on them and be securely bolted to the car using a minimum of 2 bolts. Penalty will be starting at the rear of the field of the next feature.

6. Drive shaft must be painted white and have the car number on it.

7. A full fire suit is MANDATORY for every competing driver. Any driver not wearing a fire suit will not be permitted to race.

8. All drivers must wear a Snell-approved helmet. A full-face helmet is recommended. Any driver in any class may receive a 25lb weight break if they use an approved head and neck restraint system. Driver must use it every time on the track and must get it approved with tech man.

9. A window net is recommended but not required.

10. Fire retardant gloves are highly recommended.

11. No electronic or computer devices or data acquisition systems or traction-controlled devices are allowed on the racetrack at any time.

12. All header turnouts must be welded.

13. Mufflers are required in all classes at all times. Anyone caught altering or modifying the muffler in any way will be disqualified and will not receive any points or prize money for that night. Any car that loses a muffler during an event will also be disqualified. (The header is the most vibrating component on a racecar; make sure your muffler is securely fastened. They will come off if not fastened properly. The track will regretfully have to enforce this rule without exception due to the contract agreements in getting this track back from the county.

Super late model and late model:
Must be sanction approved W.O.O. ALL-STAR ASCS SUPRA UDTRA

All other classes:
Must be schoenfeld part# 112530, 112535, 113035 all are under $30.00

Part number must remain on mufflers at all times.
Anyone tampering with mufflers will be disqualified
Muffler must remain stock from factory and must remain on car. Any car finishing without a muffler will be disqualified.

14. RACEceivers will be mandatory in ALL classes and be required anytime the car is on the track.

15. Any weights or turnouts falling off a car during a race will result in a penalty against the car.

Flags

1. Green: The green flag is the indication for the racing to begin.

2. Yellow: The yellow flag is for caution, meaning there is some kind of hazard on the racing surface. When the yellow flag is displayed, racing stops. Any car continuing to race or failing to slow down as soon as a caution is displayed may be immediately disqualified from the event.

3. Blue: Yellow: The blue-yellow flag indicated that the leader and/or faster cars are closing on a slower car. The driver receiving the blue-yellow flag must move to the inside and allow the faster cars to pass on the outside. A driver who fails to move down after the move over flag is displayed will be given a warning. If the driver again fails to move down, he will be black flagged and removed from the race.

4. Black: The black flag is a consultation flag and indicates that the driver must come to the pits immediately for consultation with a race official.

5. Red: The red flag will be displayed when the track is blocked or in cases where safety is a factor. In the case of a red flag, all cars should stop immediately.

6. White: When the white flag is displayed, it means the leader has started his last lap. If on the white flag lap the caution is displayed, all cars, regardless of their location on the track, will slow down and maintain position. We will revert back to the last completed green flag lap and on the restart there will be a green, white, checkered finish.

7. Checkered: When a checkered flag is displayed, it means the race is completed. When the checkered flag is given to the leader, the balance of the field receives the checkered flag on the same lap.

Mountain Late Models

General Rules

1. Body - wedge type body - SAS bodies permitted - SAS spoilers: 2,300 lbs. Rear spoilers must be transparent with no more than 30% covered.

2. Wheel Base - 103" minimum.

3. Wheel - any aluminum racing wheel, 14" maximum width - no carbon fiber.

4. Racing Fuel Cell - with minimum of two 2' wide steel straps.

5. Fuel - Gasoline only. No Alcohol, Nitrous Oxide, Nitrobenzene, or any other additives meant to increase oxidation rate of the fuel. It is strongly recommended that a fuel cell with a top pick-up be used for the 2005 season. The top pick-up fuel cell will be mandatory for the 2006 season.

6. Tires - Hoosier D55 or 1600 spec tire which must have the shoulder plate. The D55 crate tire will also be allowed. Tire must durometer 60 at all times. Any tire in question will be kept by the track for a Hoosier rep to check. Legal tires will be returned after checking..

7. Driveshaft – carbon fiber. Add 50 lb

8. Rear End - any quick change or floater.

9. Transmission - O. E. M. or racing transmission (must have working clutch and reverse)


Crate Engines


602 and 604 engines may race at 2100 lbs with a 12" spoiler


CT 525 Crate Engine may race at 2300 lbs with a 10" spoiler


Mountain Late Model Engine A may race at 2200 lbs with a 10" spoiler

1. Maximum 362 cubic inches.

2. OEM steel block, or aftermarket steel block, all components must remain in stock location. (no raised or oversized cam journals) (no oversized lifters)

3. Aftermarket cranks and steel rods allowed, (no titanium or aluminum rods) Cranks must be minimum 50lbs. (1/2 lb. variance will be allowed, crank will weighed with gear and keyway). Balancing ok (drill hole or weld or install Mallory metal). Oil holes may be race chamfered. No other machine work allowed.

4. Flat top pistons only. Zero deck.

5. Max stroke 3.500 with .005 tolerances. Max bore 4.070 with .005 tolerances.

6. Wet sump oil systems only, add 50 lbs. for external oil pump. (single stage only, oil cooler allowed, no external tanks) No dry sump systems allowed at any time. 

7. Steel heads only. May be flat or angle milled. Valve job may be any angle and any depth.

A. Stock OEM heads. No porting, polishing, grinding, or excessive deburring in any breathing area. No shot peening or acid porting allowed. Heads may be deburred on outside areas only. Intake must be cast aluminum. Any aftermarket intakes are allowed. No modifications except for auxiliary water lines. Valve spring pockets may be machined. May have competition valve job, any angle any depth, all angles must remain concentric with valve guide. May be machined for push rod clearance. May be flat or angle milled. Vortech heads are also allowed. Maximum 2" carburetor spacer is allowed.

B. Aftermarket heads: Dart, World, Pro-Action, Bowtie, SVO, Mopar Performance, or any otherbrand. Chevy heads must be 23º standard runner. No raised runner heads. Single plane intakes are allowed. No modifications except for auxiliary water lines. NOTE: Hi-Tech, Tork-Link intake is not legal on aftermarket heads.

8. Stud mount roller rocker arms allowed. No shaft-type rocker system allowed. Stud girdles allowed.

9. Floating wrist pins allowed.

10. Stock valve stem size only, no titanium valves.

Engine valve sizes:

Chevrolet 350 2.02 1.600

Chrysler 360 2.02 1.600

Ford 302-351w 2.02 1.600

Ford 351c maximum size 2.19 1.700

11. Any hydraulic or solid flat tappet camshaft allowed. Must be OEM lifter bore size. No ceramic lifters. No roller cams allowed at any time.

12. Any point or electric ignition. No magnetos.

13. One 4-bbl. Carburetor 4150 series.

14. Headers are allowed.

1.     $500.00 to Pll first head $200.00 to pull second head (Heads, Intake, Carb, Bore & Stroke), $150.00 goes to the Track.

2.     $500.00 Bottom End (Crank & Rods etc.), $150.00 to the Track.

3.     $200.00 to pull oil pan for visual only, $50.00 to the Track.

4.     $100.00 to Pull Valve Cover for visual, $50.00 to the Track.

5.     $150.00 to pull Intake for visual, $50.00 to the Track.

6.     May claim MSD Box for $250.00 or swap for $100.00 and exchange boxes.

7.     Any driver in the top 5 may protest the winner ONLY. (no reverse protests allowed)

Modified Mini

Body:  Stock appearing fiberglass or wedge type metal bodies

Spoiler:  8 inch maximum height, not to protrude past body on outside.

Chassis:  Tube type with 100 inch minimum wheel base.

Rear End:  O.E.M. type only. any quick change add 50 lb.

Transmission:  O.E.M. type only. racing transmission add 50 lb (must have working clutch and reverse)

Engine Set Back:  8 inch maximum.

Engine:  Incline four cylinder automotive type engines only – O.E.M. type block only; flat top pistons only – zero deck – (2300 Ford - .060 max. overbore with stock stroke of 3.125 no weight penalty for overbore on this engine.)

Crankshaft:  Aftermarket cranks are permitted.

Rods:  Aftermarket rods okay (no titanium rods)

Carburetor:  One 2 barrel carb. Only (2300 holley style only – any sizes.)

Fuel:  Racing fuel only – no alcohol – nitrous or additives.

Wheels:  13” x 10” steel only – bead locks only.

Tires:  D-55 spec.

Weights:  2300cc with steel head - .060 max overbore – 2000 lbs.

2300cc with aluminum racing heads – 1950 lbs.

2300cc Toyota with O.E.M.  Aluminum head .060 max overbore – 1950 lbs. (stock stroke must be used.)

2500cc with steal head – 2050 lbs.

2500cc with aluminum racing head – 2100 lbs.

Any engine over 2500cc add 1 lb per cc to weight – 2750cc max on any engine.

Note:  If one type engine proves to be dominant, the track reserves the right to revise the rules as it deems necessary to equalize competition.  This does not mean a good handling car and good driver will be penalized.

Mini Stock

Mini Stock Body & Suspension

1A. Body must remain with O. E. M. firewall and floor pan and front inner fenders.

1B. Body panels may be replaced with steel or aluminum must remain stock looking in appearance.

2. Stock or aftermarket stock appearing front and rear covers only.

3. No convertibles or T-bodies allowed.

4. All glass, plastic, emblems, etc. must be removed.

5. All cars must have four (4) steel bars vertically welded across the windshield space directly in front of driver.

6. No bump bars or tube frames allowed.

7. Interior passenger side enclosures OK, but must have inspection hole with cover.

8. All steering components must remain stock. May run steering quickeners.

9. Weight jacking screws or adjustable cups add 50 lbs.

10. Racing shocks allowed. Adjustable non-racing shock/strut allowed on any car.

11. Shocks must be mounted in original position.

12. No coil-overs allowed anywhere on the vehicle.

13. No traction aiding devices. 90/10 shock lift bar etc.

14. Any disc brake allowed, except carbon fiber.

15. Stock O. E. M. rear end only. Any gear ratio allowed. (No rear disc brakes, no spools allowed)

16. No altering of frames but may tie frame together.

17: Any aftermarket stock-appearing spring OK. Non-adjustable spring spacer allowed.

18. Caster/camber plates are allowed.

19. All cars must have legible numbers on the right side and top of car of contrasting color to the body of the car. No duct tape numbers or spray painted numbers.

20. 6” high rear spoiler with 6” sideboards Are allowed.

Mini Stock Transmission

1. O. E. M. type only.

2. Manual transmissions only.

3. All transmissions must have operational forward and reverse.

4. Stock steel flywheels and clutches only, may run 10,000 R.P.M. flywheel with stock clutch only.

5. Bell housing must have a minimum of 2" hole in the bottom, approximately 1-1/2" to 2" from the edge.

6. No ram couplers or direct drive. Multidisc clutches or aluminum flywheel add 70 lb.

 Mini Stock Engines

1. Four cylinder, in-line engines only.

2. May run import car (real wheel drive) with aluminum head or block but engine must come with that car.

3. Exhaust must be covered or wrapped when inside of car.

4. No rotary, turbos, or overhead engines permitted (no vacuum pumps).

5. No aluminum heads allowed unless factory equipped.

6. Roller heads allowed. Add 100 lb

7. Car's c.c. must be posted on hood of car.

8. Must have correct c.c. posted. Any weight add other than cc must notify tech man.

9. Formula for c.c will be: bore times bore times stroke times .7854 times # of cylinders times 16.387.

10. Electric water pumps add 50 lb.

11. No crank trigger ignition.

12. One two barrel carb.

13. No dry sump.

Mini Stock Fuel

1. Gasoline only.

2. Fuel cells required. Fuel cells must be securely mounted with two (2) 2" by 1/8" steel straps. It is strongly recommended that a fuel cell with a top pick-up be used for the 2005 season. The top pick-up fuel cell will be mandatory for the 2006 season.

Mini Stock Weight

One lb. per c.c., minimum weight is 2,000 lbs. (Tech man will allow 5 c.c. for wear only).

Mini Stock Wheels

1. 13" x 8" maximum.

2. Steel only.

3. Bead locks allowed on right side only.

Mini Stock Tires

1. Hoosier

2. 23.0/8.0-13-RC4

3. 22.5/8.0-13-RC4

Mini Stock Protest Rules

1. Visual protest $50.

2. Any driver in the top 5 may protest the winner.

Modified Street

Modified Street Body

1. American made, rear wheel drives only. No trucks allowed. Camaro-type bodies are allowed.

2. 1966-1987 models only.

3. Minimum wheelbase of 108 inches from centerline of front wheels to centerline of rear wheels.

4. Stock steel bodies only. Hulling is allowed, but must retain full stock firewall and floor pan. If any body parts are replaced with sheet metal or aluminum it must remain stock appearing. (or weight may be added per tech man)

5. All vehicles must have four windshield bars welded vertically directly in front of driver. All doors must be welded shut.

6. All glass, plastic grills, lights, emblems, etc. must be removed.

7. All cars must have legible numbers on the right side and top of car of contrasting color to the body of the car. No duct tape numbers or spray painted numbers.

8. Allowed 6" rear spoiler, no wider than the deck lid with sideboards 12” long max no higher than spoiler.

Modified Street Suspension

1. Steering components must be stock.

2. Stock type springs front and rear (coil or leaf) may be heated or cut.

3. Lower control arms must be make and model of car. Lower control arm may be shortened or lengthened to obtain proper front end geometry (aftermarket or tubular upper control arms allowed.)  

4. No racing shocks. One per wheel. No coil overs.

5. Any stock appearing aftermarket spring allowed.

6. Jack bolts okay.

Roll Cage

1. Must have full roll cage with six points welded to frame.

2. Must have at least three driver side door bars and at least three bars in passenger door.

3. Must have support cross bar behind the driver for proper positioning of the seat belt harness.

Transmission


OEM Manual transmission allowed

Clutch

may run racing clutch. no carbon or exotic material clutch. No ram couplers

1. O. E. M. automatic only.

2. No ram couplers or direct drive.

3. No valves or pedals.

4. No stall converters.

5. Must have working reverse.

6. Torque converters must be O. E. M. type for transmission used and in working order.

Rear End

1. Any gear ratio allowed, 9” ford rear ends are allowed in any make or model car, but must have all components in stock location of the make or model car that it is installed in.

2. May be locked.

3. No floaters.

4. Pan hard bar may be used. Top link must be solid, no J bars, pull or lift bars. No other modifications to rear suspension allowed.
 

 Fuel

1. Gasoline only. NO Additives.

2. Fuel cells are required. It is strongly recommended that a fuel cell with a top pick-up be used.

3. Must be securely mounted with at least two (2) 2" by 1/8" steel straps.

4. No electric fuel pumps.

5. Stock carburetors or up to 650 max holy carb add 25 lb.

Weight

305ci 3000 lb, 327ci 3100 lb, 350ci 3200 lb

Add 10 lbs. per cubic inch of over bore (example: .030 over 350 is 355 c.i. = weight of 3,350 lbs. Weight must be posted on car)

Maximum 12" wide wheels only.

Hoosier D-55 or Hoosier 1600 also D-55 crate tire (must durometer 60 before or after race).

 Engines

1. Headers allowed.

2. OEM Cast Intakes or Aluminum Intakes allowed must be Chevy bowtie part #10185063 or Eldebrock Performer part #2101 (no high-rise intakes allowed, if adapter plate is used, it must be part #2732 or equivalent. If thermal gasket is used, it must be FellPro part #9265 or equivalent) and must add 25 lb for aluminum intakes. No air gaps allowed, No carb spacers allowed.

3. OEM Cast Heads only. No Modifications, No Exceptions. Vortec Heads add 100 lbs. May be cut for screw in studs & guide plates. If Stainless Steel Valves are used, they must be inexpensive single-groove or double groove (no pro-flow valves allowed). Stock Diameter Valve Springs. No Machining of Spring Pocket Allowed. Stock size valves only (except may run 202 intake and 1/6 exhaust, maximum size allowed).

4. Stamped Steel Rockers or roller rockers 1.5 ratio only.

5. Any Hydraulic Flat Tappet Cam allowed. (No Rollers, No Solid Lift Cams).

6. Flat Top or Dish two or Four Valve Relief Pistons only. May be cast or Hypereutectic. No Forged Pistons (No Exceptions).

7. Stock OEM Cranks. No modifications allowed.

8. Stock OEM Rods or aftermarket stock appearing rods (Eagle, Scat, Elgin, etc.) Stock Length. No Floating Wrist Pins. No Polishing or Balancing of Rods allowed. No Modification. (May run ARP Rod Bolts)

9. OEM Blocks only. No Bowtie Blocks Allowed. No Modificaitons except may over bore and run ARP Main Bolts. No Decking of Block Surface allowed.

Mini Late model (
Kids into Racing)
Rules, Regulations and Information

1.       The Mini Late Models must remain 100% stock—no exceptions!!!

2.       Any modification to enhance the performance of the mini late model is not allowed!!!

3.       Any modification to improve the safety of the Mini Late Model is permitted.

4.       You can run any air pressure in the tires up to the max PSI.  Listed on the tire.

5.       The mini late model must have a number and kids name on both sides so we can score the car,

6.       We recommend the child uses a “RACEceiver” because they are used in all other classes and this will help the child when they start moving up to other classes. It will also improve the safety because it will allow us to talk to the child. (RACEceivers are not mandatory)

7.       You may purchase window nets, roll bars, windshield bars, or roll bar padding etc. Warrior Racecars can assist with these items. We also recommend arm restraints.

8.       You may use any replacement non-racing tires with any tread pattern. In the event a tire needs to be replaced, the tires must remain the stock size. (Tire softener is not recommended; it is expensive, will shorten the life of the tires, and will not speed up the cars).

9.       We recommend using 87 or 89 octane gas. Racing fuel or additives will not speed up the car and may shorten the life of the engine. It is also expensive and more dangerous in the event of a fire.

10.   In accordance with the new lead laws, the manufacturer we purchase from states that everyone should be informed that the car does contain lead ( mainly in the battery) and any child under the age of 12 is not recommended to operate the car.

11.   Mountain Raceway will do what is necessary to keep the competition as even as possible.

12.   Kids will be paired up more by size and skill level, and not always by the age of the child.

13.   The parent and child MUST attend the safety training class and receive their competition card before they can compete in a racing event.

14.   Each family that is racing the mini late model only will receive a discounted pit pass ($10 on weekly events. Special events may vary)

15.   We ask that each family pays an annual $25 membership fee.  If the family has more than one child racing the $25 will cover both kids.

16.   This will help offset our insurance cost and will also make sure if you go to any other track that runs the Mini Late Models your competition card will work there.

17.   Mountain raceway reserves the right to do an engine swap with a new engine on any car we think may have a illegal engine.

18.   We will also confiscate any illegal parts we find.

19.   A penalty will be imposed on any team caught with illegal parts or not following rules (deduct of points or barded from future events this will be determined by the race director and tech man)

 Parent and Child Conduct

1.       It is very important to teach the children good sportsmanship. We expect all the parents, guardians, and crews to set a good example.

2.       Any profanity obscene gestures such as yelling, screaming, etc. will not be tolerated.

3.       Any decisions by track officials will be final. Sometimes we will make bad calls, but we expect everyone to accept them and move on.

4.       Occasionally children will receive free passes. These passes are not redeemable for the parents and children; they are intended to be handed out to the child’s friends and non-immediate family members.

5.       No parent or crew member is allowed on the track at anytime.

6.       This class is to get kids involved in racing we want to keep it inexpensive for the parents and FUN for the KIDS!
